Mahal Kita (I love you) - Jeymee, 11

Jeymee is eleven years old and has six siblings. She is Joe's big sister. Together they look after the family or play with their friends. Her favorite time of day is three o'clock in the afternoon, when her friends come home from school and they can play together. Rhojan is her best friend. The two of them are always out and about together. In her free time, Jeymee loves to play when she is not looking after her little sister. She has taken photos of the church and the school, because she finds large buildings impressive. Her dream is to become an actress because she can sing well. Our field worker Ate Olive met Jeymee on the street. After long discussions, we decided to include her in our projects despite her advanced age. A child without family support is at risk of quickly slipping into life on the streets without prospects. However, Jeymee should be given the chance that every child deserves and receive an appropriate education.Art Meets Education is a social startup that funds education through photography. In our photography workshops, we show kids how to take photos with an analog camera. This allows them to capture their view of the world with photos. In the next step, we curate the photos, from which we create prints. The artworks are then exhibited and sold. With the money from their works, the young artists can finance their education for 12 years until they graduate from high school.
